SNAP Maths wins at BETT!

SNAP Maths was a big winner at BETT 2024 ast week, taking home the award for the best SEND Resources, Products and Services.

Everyone at Hodder Education is super excited for the win and that BETT recognised the hard work of the project team.  Their efforts and commitment have been instrumental in bringing SNAP Maths to life and making it the outstanding product it is today.

SNAP Maths is a unique digital diagnostic tool that helps teachers and SENCOs assess learners with suspected dyscalculia/maths learning difficulties, including maths anxiety, and provide support through targeted interventions and strategies.

The BETT were impressed with the support for learners. The judges said: “SNAP Maths not only assesses their maths skills, but also identifies their emotional response to maths questions, which is important because maths anxiety is a key barrier to student progress and this tool enables teachers to detect and address this issue more effectively.”

I’m completely thrilled and still quite stunned that SNAP Maths won. The project began right back in 2019, with teachers and SENCOs telling us that they didn’t have the assessments or resources to support their pupils with maths difficulties effectively, and research highlighted how underdiagnosed maths learning difficulties are compared to dyslexia.With expert authors – Judy Hornigold, Jonathan Weedon and Charles Weedon – and an incredible in-house team, who were dealt many curveballs (including the Covid-19 pandemic), we have developed something that is truly unique in the market, and I can’t wait to see more and more schools using the product to support their learners and reduce barriers to maths learning.
