SNAP-B will help you build a Core Profile of a learner with:
- Three questionnaires that gather information about a learner from three sources: the learner, the learner's parent or carer, and the teacher.
- Profiles 17 social, emotional, and behavioural needs across three domains: relationship with self, relationships with other children, and relationships with adults.
- Follows the Assess-Plan-Do-Review model as set out by the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
"The problem is the problem, not the child."
Listen to SNAP-B author Dr Rob Long on the School Behaviour Secrets Podcast as he explains how to measure the impact of behavioural interventions and discusses the methodology of SNAP-B.
"Managing behaviour is a bit like being a detective. You have to investigate what is driving this behaviour? Is it this? Is it that? So SNAP-B gives you a direction to say 'this is a plausible explanation for this behaviour'."

What schools say about SNAP
[The Home Report] is an easy document to use to show techniques for parents to try at home. Sometimes it can be difficult to engage parents, especially if there is a language barrier, but parents seem to like the visual profile SNAP gives."
SENCo Staincliffe CE Junior SchoolSNAP allows us to reassess so after targeted intervention, progress can be monitored and evidenced in a visual report which allows us to show the impact of the work we have carried out on improving student wellbeing.
