What we do
As publishing designers we get to work on lots of different things – book covers and page layouts, digital products for the web with animations and games - it’s very varied and interesting! We use Macs with the latest software, and commission videos and illustration. Our job isn’t just about making things look good – it’s about making them easy to read and understand by using fonts, colours, images and design skills to bring it all together. The Roles in a Design team
Most companies have several different roles in their Design team. The job titles can vary, but these are the ones we use at Hachette Learning, starting with the first step, increasing in seniority. The diagram includes a brief description of what each role might do – though each day is different!
